Orangutan Tour

Orangutan is one of the great ape only found in South East Asia in the two island Borneo and Sumatra. In Borneo, Orangutan speat up in the whole island include Malaysia, Sabah, and Indonesia Borneo called Kalimantan. Kalimantan divided into 4 propince West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan. In West Kalimantan you could find Orangutan in Danau Sentarum National Park and Gunung Palung National Park. In Central Kalimantan, this is the best way to see orangutan is in Tanjung Puting National Park. Here you could see the orangutan feeding daily and here there are three camps Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tangguy and Camp Leakey. Most of orangutan here is wild born ex-captive orangutan, their mother was ex-captive that had been released by the Dr. Birute Galidikas while she do the research in Camp Leakey. She established the research in Camp Leakey in 1971 till today. While you see the wild born ex-captive orangutan you might see real wild orangutan in this National Park as there are more than 5,000 population we have here.

Fly from Singapore to Jakarta then Jakarta direct to Pangkalan Bun by Riau Airlines, Trigana Air and Express air. they flight daily to Pangkalan Bun. from Pangkalan Bun it take only 20 minutes to Kumai (small distric) by car. Kumai to the National Park take about 1.5 hour by houseboating. then you will see the real habitat of the orangutan. here you will see not only orangutan but also other wild life such as Proboscis Monkey, Macaque, silver lagur, Red leaves eating monkey, Gibbon, Hornbill, King fisher, Crocodile, Wild pig, Barking Dear, etc. in this national park you could do trekking into the forest to explore more wildlife.
